During October 2024, Njirambem contributed to the ghostty-org/ghostty repository by implementing an overline text decoration feature for terminal displays. This work involved updating the rendering logic and style attributes to support SGR 53/55, enabling overline emphasis for improved text readability and consistency in the terminal UI. Using Zig as the primary language, Njirambem applied skills in graphics rendering and terminal development to extend the terminal’s styling capabilities. The feature addressed the need for enhanced text emphasis without introducing major bugs, reflecting a focused and well-scoped engineering effort that deepened the project’s support for modern terminal UI standards.
