Worked on visual improvements for the BpkChipGroup component in the Skyscanner/backpack repository, focusing on UI polish and alignment. Addressed inconsistencies in nudger spacing within rail chip groups by applying uniform inline margins, ensuring the component matched design specifications. Improved the alignment of chips with leading icons by switching from baseline to center alignment, resulting in more consistent visual presentation across the component library. Delivered these enhancements through incremental, reviewable commits, emphasizing maintainability and adherence to the Backpack design system. Utilized CSS, SCSS, and front end development skills to enhance component styling, reducing future rework and improving overall user experience.
