Developed and delivered the Huum Sauna Temperature Sensor Integration for the mib1185/homeassistant-core repository, expanding Home Assistant’s monitoring and automation capabilities for sauna environments. Focused on backend development and API integration, the work introduced a dedicated temperature sensor to the Huum integration, enabling real-time temperature tracking within the platform. Collaborated closely with other contributors to ensure code quality and maintainability, incorporating unit testing throughout the process. The implementation, written in Python, addressed the need for richer sauna automation by providing accurate sensor data, and demonstrated a methodical approach to extending Home Assistant’s feature set through targeted, well-tested enhancements.
