Worked on enhancing data reliability in the JabRef/jabref repository by addressing a bug related to the sorting of the PAGETOTAL field. Applied backend development skills in Java to modify StandardField.java, introducing a NUMERIC property that ensures pagination totals are sorted numerically rather than alphabetically. This technical adjustment improved the accuracy of bibliographic metrics and reduced user confusion. Updated the project’s Markdown-based documentation, specifically the CHANGELOG.md, to clearly communicate the fix and maintain transparency for users. The work focused on targeted bug resolution, emphasizing data integrity and user experience, and demonstrated a methodical approach to backend Java development and documentation.
