Worked on the searxng/searxng repository to address a reliability issue in Adobe Stock video metadata ingestion, focusing on accurate publication date handling. Improved the backend by replacing a manual string parsing method with Python’s datetime.fromisoformat, ensuring correct interpretation of ISO 8601 date formats. This targeted bug fix enhanced data accuracy and reduced downstream errors in analytics and user-facing features. Demonstrated skills in API integration, backend development, and date and time handling, while adhering to established codebase standards. The work contributed to more reliable video metadata processing, supporting better data quality and analytics for the searxng/searxng project.
