During October 2025, Brian Thomas developed the Telemetry Local Troubleshoot Profile feature for the Mirantis/hmc repository, focusing on enhancing observability and diagnostics. He updated YAML-based configuration files to introduce a new troubleshoot profile, telemetry-local.yaml, which collects targeted telemetry data such as cluster information, KCM logs, and telemetry files in local telemetry mode. This work improved the organization and relevance of diagnostic data, supporting faster issue resolution and reducing mean time to recovery. Leveraging skills in configuration management and system administration, Brian’s contributions provided better traceability and configurability, directly addressing the needs of site reliability engineering workflows without introducing new bugs.
