
Worked on enhancing the S3KeySensor component in the potiuk/airflow repository, focusing on improving metadata handling and enabling context-aware checks for S3 object monitoring. Leveraged Python and AWS skills to ensure the sensor now returns detailed object metadata and properly propagates context to the check function, addressing previous limitations in deferrable mode. Expanded unit and integration test coverage validated these changes, increasing reliability and observability of S3 event detection. Collaborated across repository boundaries and utilized CI workflows to ensure robust deployment. The work resulted in reduced false positives and clearer diagnostics, strengthening backend monitoring capabilities within the Airflow ecosystem.
