Developed an enhancement for the qmk/qmk_firmware repository by adding LED index rendering to the qmk info command, enabling users to visually map LED indices to keys according to keyboard layouts. This feature streamlines the keyboard configuration process by allowing quick verification of LED mappings before firmware flashing, reducing setup errors and improving user feedback. The work involved CLI development and keyboard firmware programming, utilizing Python to integrate the new visualization capability. Demonstrated a practical understanding of embedded hardware layouts and effective use of Git for controlled feature delivery, focusing on improving configuration user experience without addressing bug fixes during the period.
