Worked on the grafana/grafana repository to enhance tracing capabilities by introducing namespace-aware service identification in TraceView. Leveraging React and TypeScript, implemented frontend changes so that span labels now display both namespace and service name, allowing users to distinguish between identically named services across different namespaces. Updated the trace waterfall view to reflect these distinctions visually, including unique display names and colors. On the backend, extended support for service.namespace extraction and ensured alignment with OTEL conventions, updating tests and fixtures accordingly. This work improved trace disambiguation logic, resulting in clearer service differentiation and more accurate trace mapping for users.
