Worked on the archivesspace/archivesspace repository to improve the reliability of MariaDB-based bulk and batch import processes. Addressed phantom read and write conflicts by refining backend workflows, focusing on database management and Ruby on Rails best practices. Refactored input file path handling to minimize edge-case failures and ensured that URIs were consistently created and recorded during batch imports, enhancing data integrity and traceability. Delivered a targeted bug fix to resolve import reliability issues, while making incremental changes that improved the maintainability and observability of the import pipeline. The work emphasized robust backend development and careful attention to operational reliability.
