Chaitan Chilakamary enhanced the UKHomeOffice/core-cloud-terraform-modules repository by delivering an organization-wide CloudWatch Logs destination policy that enables cross-account subscription filters within AWS Organizations. Using Terraform and HCL, Chaitan refactored the destination module’s access policy logic to remove redundancy and modernized policy encoding by adopting jsonencode, improving both structure and clarity for organization-wide and account-based policies. These engineering efforts addressed reliability issues in the cw-logs-destination module, streamlining log data routing across accounts. The work reduced operational overhead, strengthened governance of log delivery, and accelerated onboarding for new member accounts, demonstrating a strong grasp of infrastructure as code and policy-as-code practices.
