Worked on the foxglove-sdk repository to address a persistent bug in the Foxglove Bridge, focusing on message format recognition for cached files. Applied C++ development and software debugging skills to resolve an error that previously caused cached message files to be misidentified after the initial access, which led to user-facing parsing failures. The solution stabilized message parsing for both MSG and IDL formats during cache-based retrievals, reducing errors and improving workflow reliability. System design principles guided the approach, ensuring that the fix enhanced the bridge cache path without requiring additional documentation changes, and maintained a smooth experience for developers and users.
