Worked on enhancing observability in the apache/hertzbeat repository by developing a feature for VictoriaMetrics that enables customizable host-aware labeling of metrics. Implemented in Java, this solution allows users to add a dedicated host label and merge custom labels into the metric label set, supporting more granular filtering and identification of time series data. The approach focused on backend development and data storage integration, specifically targeting improvements in how metrics are organized and queried within VictoriaMetrics. Over the course of the month, the work addressed a key need for precise host-level metric analysis, contributing to ongoing quality and maintainability efforts.
