Worked on integrating and documenting the Chonkie chunking library across the weaviate/weaviate-io and run-llama/llama_index repositories, focusing on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and metadata-aware text chunking. Developed comprehensive documentation and practical use cases to streamline developer onboarding and accelerate adoption of chunking strategies. Implemented Chonkie integration within LlamaIndex, updating Node Parser references and expanding test coverage to validate flexible, metadata-driven chunking workflows. Leveraged Python and Markdown for both code and documentation, emphasizing robust testing and clear technical writing. The work improved retrieval quality, enhanced configuration options, and laid a foundation for future chunking-library collaborations within these projects.
