Worked on the loculus repository to enhance data integrity and processing efficiency for multi-organism pipelines. Developed per-organism ETag cache isolation by introducing a SQL trigger and function, ensuring that updates in the current processing pipeline only affected relevant organism data and did not interfere with released data from others. Also implemented batch file ownership validation in the data submission endpoint, reducing database lookups while maintaining robust safety checks. Leveraged Kotlin and SQL for backend development and database management, focusing on scalable API development. The work addressed correctness and performance, delivering two targeted features within the month without introducing new bugs.
