Worked on the loculus-project/loculus repository to enable self-hosted deployments within VPC environments by developing a comprehensive K3d Nginx setup guide. This involved updating documentation and modifying both the cluster creation script and Nginx configuration to support VPC routing, allowing for streamlined, turnkey deployments using Kubernetes and Nginx. The approach focused on improving onboarding speed and reducing configuration errors for administrators operating in restricted network settings. Utilizing Bash scripting and Markdown for documentation, the work provided clear, admin-facing guidance on self-hosting with k3d and Nginx, ultimately enhancing deployment reliability and clarity for users managing infrastructure in VPCs.
