During July 2025, Chris Mungall focused on enhancing contributor onboarding and governance for the obophenotype/uberon repository by updating the CLAUDE Ontology Contribution Guidelines. He clarified ontology term management processes, providing practical examples for obsoleting terms and correcting script references within the documentation. Using Markdown and applying ontology engineering principles, Chris standardized metadata formats for contributor and date properties, adopting ORCID URLs and ISO timestamps to improve data quality and maintainability. The work, delivered through three targeted commits, addressed ambiguity in documentation and laid groundwork for future automation, reflecting a depth of attention to both technical detail and community needs.
