During January 2026, Cortex Mancer enhanced the emscripten-core/emscripten repository by adding FreeBSD support to the emrun script. This work involved extending Python-based system programming logic to detect and utilize FreeBSD-specific CPU and memory information, as well as browser detection capabilities. By focusing on cross-platform development, Cortex Mancer reduced friction for FreeBSD users and enabled more comprehensive platform testing and continuous integration coverage. The technical approach required adapting existing Python scripting to accommodate FreeBSD’s system interfaces, demonstrating depth in both cross-platform compatibility and low-level system interaction. The contribution addressed a clear gap in FreeBSD support within the emrun workflow.
