Focused on refining preseed networking logic, the developer ensured that IPv6 gateway settings are only applied when a gateway is present and associated with the primary interface, thereby reducing the risk of misconfiguration. This solution improved idempotency and safety in system administration workflows, particularly during automated deployments. The work involved troubleshooting and resolving a specific bug, utilizing skills in networking configuration and system administration, and leveraging ERB templates to implement safeguards that prevent unnecessary or incorrect IPv6 gateway assignments.
