Developed and integrated the Cohere Embed v4 model into the Bedrock embedding service within the RooVetGit/Roo-Cline repository, focusing on enhancing model capabilities and deployment flexibility. The work involved defining v4-specific request and response formats and updating model profiles to support the new 1536-dimensional embedding. Improved credential handling by replacing fromEnv() with a flexible provider chain, enabling compatibility with SSO, IMDS, and ECS sources while incorporating memoization for efficiency. Added comprehensive unit tests in TypeScript to validate request and response handling, credential provider selection, and regression coverage, ensuring robust back end development and reducing the risk of future regressions.
