Worked on the Shopify/rails repository to enhance development workflow stability and improve ActiveRecord reliability using Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Focused on backend development, addressing two critical bugs: one fix ensured the internal development welcome route was registered only once during development, preventing route duplication and reducing confusion in local environments. Another fix targeted the connection pool reaper, eliminating false leaked-connection reports by ensuring connections checked out for maintenance were not incorrectly flagged. Both solutions included additional test coverage to validate behavior and reduce false positives, contributing to more reliable routing and connection management during maintenance and development cycles.
