Worked on the porter-dev/porter-charts repository to enhance Kubernetes deployment workflows and observability. Delivered two features: container ID labeling in Porter-agent logs and a default 5-second preStop hook for web and worker pods. The log enhancement, implemented using YAML and integrated with promtail, improved traceability by correlating logs to specific containers, streamlining debugging and monitoring. The preStop hook enabled more graceful pod shutdowns, reducing disruption during deployments and scaling events. Focused on DevOps practices and logging, the work emphasized reliability and maintainability, with all changes validated to ensure stable rollout across the platform. No major bugs were addressed during this period.
