Worked on improving networking stability for the OpenPanel repository by addressing issues related to Docker’s dynamic IP assignment. Focused on resolving a bug where stale DNAT rules could misroute admin traffic after container restarts, the solution involved pinning openpanel_network services to static IPv4 addresses using Docker’s IPAM and the ipv4_address directive in YAML configuration. This approach ensured that port forwarding remained consistent and reliable, even after Docker restarts or container recreation. The work demonstrated practical expertise in DevOps, Docker networking, and YAML, resulting in more predictable deployments, improved uptime, and easier incident response for OpenPanel’s administrative access.
