Worked on the microsoft/vscode-copilot-chat repository to enhance performance and user experience in document-driven interactions. Developed a short-lived caching mechanism for document retrieval, reducing redundant fetches and improving response times for users. Introduced language filtering within the linkifier, ensuring that only relevant links are presented based on the document’s language context. Focused on a maintainable, targeted commit that consolidated these improvements into the codebase. Utilized TypeScript for implementation, leveraging skills in VSCode extension development and front end engineering. The work addressed responsiveness and relevance, resulting in a more efficient document retrieval flow without introducing new bug fixes during the period.
