Worked on the CMSgov/beneficiary-fhir-data repository to enhance claims processing reliability and data accuracy by delivering three features over two months. Focused on backend development using Java and Python, the work included upgrading Jackson and Netty dependencies to address security vulnerabilities and maintain compatibility with evolving library versions. Implemented SSA to FIPS state code mapping in Explanation of Benefit supporting information, improving claims data precision. Additionally, expanded the v3 server’s claims mapping to expose new fields such as blood deductible amounts and service periods, enabling more accurate adjudication and reporting while ensuring backward compatibility and robust validation for the API.
Month: 2026-05 — This month delivered the V3 Server Claims Mapping Enhancement for the CMSgov/beneficiary-fhir-data repository, expanding the exposure of mapped claim line fields on the v3 server to strengthen the claims processing data model. The change adds visibility into blood deductible amounts and service periods, enabling more accurate adjudication, better reporting, and streamlined downstream processing.
