February 2026 – CMSgov/beneficiary-fhir-data: Delivered ECS EventBridge monitoring for ECS cluster events to CloudWatch, enhancing observability and incident response. Implemented a monitoring rule to capture ECS cluster events and log them to CloudWatch, including creation of IAM policies, CloudWatch event rules, and log groups. This work is tied to BFD-4388 with commit 34020bcc0336aed20710cd84b0402139fb9d433e. No major bugs fixed this month. Overall impact: improved operational visibility, faster incident diagnosis, and stronger governance for beneficiary data services. Technologies demonstrated: AWS EventBridge, IAM, CloudWatch Logs, CloudWatch Events rules, and changeset traceability.

January 2026 performance summary for CMSgov/beneficiary-fhir-data: Delivered Prometheus JMX Metrics Exposure for Java applications to improve observability and reliability. Implemented a Prometheus JMX exporter and configured environment variables and container port exposure to enable metric scraping. Linked implementation to commit 3d6200d9c8219b8849c0a1cd778c961c649d5d93 (BFD-4390: JMX prometheus setup (#2976)). Major bugs fixed: none reported this month. Overall impact: enabled dashboards and alerts, enabling proactive incident response, SLA adherence, and data-driven optimization of the beneficiary-fhir-data service.
