Worked on the ortus-boxlang/BoxLang repository to enhance the dateCompare function by introducing support for hourly precision. This involved adding a new HOURS unit, updating the internal switch-case logic to recognize and process the HOURS parameter, and developing comprehensive unit tests to ensure accurate hourly comparisons. The implementation, completed in Java with a focus on backend development and unit testing, enables the function to handle time-sensitive features and analytics that require precise hourly differentiation. Over the course of one month, the work delivered a targeted feature that improves the reliability and flexibility of date comparisons within the BoxLang codebase.
