Worked on the truenas/middleware repository to enhance system reliability by addressing a critical bug in KFD device existence detection. Focused on backend development and system administration, the work involved refining the logic in Python to ensure that kfd_device_exists accurately reports the presence of a Kernel Fusion Driver device, regardless of other GPU vendors present in the system. This correction reduced false negatives in device discovery and improved hardware inventory accuracy, which is essential for dependable resource scheduling and reporting. The update strengthened multi-vendor GPU support within middleware services, contributing to more robust and precise resource management for end users.
