Delfi Sehidic developed extended ordering flexibility within the juspay/diesel repository’s Query Builder, focusing on supporting third-party backends that opt into breaking changes. By implementing NoOrderClause and OrderClause, Delfi enabled backend-specific handling of ordering clauses, which lays the foundation for richer backend integrations and reduces future friction for backend providers. The work demonstrated a strong grasp of backend development, database query building, and Rust programming, with careful attention to backward compatibility and extensibility. Although the contribution spanned a single feature over one month, the depth of the solution addressed nuanced integration challenges and improved the Diesel ORM’s adaptability for custom backends.
