Worked on the subshell/helm-charts repository to deliver native S3 connectivity for the Sophora Importer, replacing the previous s3fs-based approach. The implementation focused on simplifying deployment by configuring S3 credentials and bucket details through environment variables, aligning with Kubernetes best practices and improving security by eliminating file-system based secrets. Updates included modifications to Helm charts, the StatefulSet, and project documentation, resulting in a more portable and maintainable deployment process. The work leveraged skills in Helm, Kubernetes, and cloud storage, with all configuration changes expressed in yaml, and addressed the need for consistent, secure, and streamlined cloud storage integration.
