During August 2025, Redel contributed to the subshell/helm-charts repository by implementing a dedicated metrics port for the Image Access Service within the Helm chart. This work involved updating YAML-based deployment and service configurations to expose a new metrics endpoint, enabling Prometheus-style metrics scraping and improving observability for Kubernetes workloads. Redel incremented both the application and chart versions to maintain release hygiene and ensure clear version tracking. The changes enhanced monitoring readiness without introducing operational risk, laying the foundation for future metrics-driven alerting and capacity planning. The work demonstrated focused use of Helm Charts and Kubernetes, with attention to maintainability.
