During August 2025, Redel contributed to the subshell/helm-charts repository by implementing a dedicated metrics port for the Image Access Service within the Helm chart. This work involved updating both deployment and service configurations using YAML to expose a new metrics endpoint, enabling Prometheus-style metrics scraping and improving observability for Kubernetes deployments. Redel incremented the application and chart versions to maintain release hygiene and ensure clear traceability of changes. By focusing on Helm Charts and Kubernetes, Redel delivered a targeted enhancement that supports future metrics-driven alerting and capacity planning, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to operational readiness and maintainability in cloud-native environments.
