Worked on improving the testing infrastructure for the eclipse-openj9/openj9 repository, focusing on the Thrstate tests. Addressed a test configuration issue by consolidating two separate thrstatetests and updating the nativeTestSettings.mk build script. Introduced the THRSTATETEST_JRE_HOME variable to explicitly specify the JRE path, which streamlined the test setup and reduced flakiness in test execution. Utilized Makefile and build systems expertise to enhance reliability and efficiency of the testing process. The work resulted in faster feedback cycles and more stable test runs, reflecting a targeted approach to infrastructure maintenance and quality assurance within a complex codebase.
