
Worked on the kubernetes/kops repository, delivering three features over two months focused on cluster startup optimization and DNS management. Developed IP-based DNS record creation for annotated pods, enhancing DNS accuracy by matching pod IPs with node internal IPs, and updated test configurations to reflect these changes. Implemented kubelet warm pool lifecycle optimization by disabling the kubelet during warm-up, reducing unnecessary runtime and improving cluster readiness. Added custom image support for warm pools, allowing user-defined images to be pre-pulled, which reduced node startup latency. All work was completed using Go, YAML, and Kubernetes, emphasizing cloud infrastructure and DevOps best practices.
