Worked on the home-assistant/buildroot repository to enhance the security and reliability of artifact retrieval during continuous integration and runtime testing. Addressed a bug by migrating artifact downloads to HTTPS and updating to a .org domain, reducing the risk of man-in-the-middle attacks and minimizing disruptions from external URL changes. Used Python and backend development skills to verify that runtime tests correctly downloaded and renamed artifacts, such as kernel-versatile-5.10.202, from the new secure source. Ensured improved CI reproducibility and traceability by providing explicit commit sign-offs and clear cherry-pick context, supporting both auditability and collaborative maintenance of the codebase.
