Worked on the meshtastic/firmware repository to enhance traceroute reliability and diagnostics in encrypted MQTT environments. Focused on improving how traceroute packets are handled, including implementing re-encryption logic and ensuring original encrypted packets are preserved during allocation failures. Addressed critical edge cases such as missing uplink nodes and improved packet ID decoding, which strengthened the robustness of traceroute tests. Enhanced observability by refining logging for failed packet decoding, supporting faster troubleshooting. Applied code quality improvements to Router.cpp and maintained build readiness. Utilized C++, MQTT, and embedded systems expertise to deliver more reliable network diagnostics and maintainable firmware in encrypted deployments.
