Developed a touchpad toggle feature for the basecamp/omarchy repository, enabling users to control touchpad functionality through both keybindings and a menu interface. The implementation used Bash and Linux command line tools, integrating persistent state storage in the user’s local configuration directory to ensure reliable toggle behavior across sessions. The logic was hardened to explicitly handle enable and disable actions, reducing the risk of race conditions or unintended state changes. On-screen display feedback and script-based flows using hyprctl provided immediate user confirmation. Compatibility improvements ensured the feature only appeared when a touchpad was detected, enhancing system configuration flexibility and usability.
