During December 2024, Daniel Smello modernized the CI/CD pipeline for system tests in the spacemeshos/go-spacemesh repository. He introduced automated jobs that build and push Docker images, provision and manage GKE clusters, and execute system tests across both GKE and dedicated clusters. Using Bash and YAML, Daniel leveraged technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and GitHub Actions to improve test reliability and ensure parity between environments. His work established an experimental environment for system tests, enhancing isolation and reproducibility. This effort laid the foundation for more deterministic test outcomes and accelerated release readiness, demonstrating depth in infrastructure automation and pipeline design.
