Worked on the aws/aws-sam-cli repository to deliver a Docker Build System feature supporting custom image naming. This addition enabled users to specify custom image names with correct tag and build-arg handling, improving deployment consistency across environments. The implementation focused on robust handling of Docker tags and build arguments, ensuring flexibility and reliability in image management. Expanded unit test coverage addressed various naming scenarios, including edge cases and case sensitivity, to enhance build reliability. The work was carried out using Python and Docker, with a collaborative approach reflected in co-authored commits and review-friendly changes, emphasizing maintainability and thorough testing practices.
