Developed and delivered a new GitHub App authentication feature for the potiuk/airflow repository, enabling users to embed a private_key directly within the Airflow connection configuration as an alternative to referencing a key file path. This approach focused on enhancing deployment flexibility and security by reducing reliance on external files. The work involved updating the GitHub hook to support the new configuration option and implementing comprehensive unit tests to validate the authentication flow. Utilizing Python and test-driven development practices, the solution streamlined enterprise deployments and improved the overall security posture, while demonstrating skills in API integration, backend development, and configuration management.
