Worked on enhancing reliability and performance across the ruby/ruby and Shopify/ruby repositories by delivering two targeted features focused on CI stability and memory management. Addressed flaky macOS CI tests in ruby/ruby by introducing a configurable RUBY_TEST_TIMEOUT_SCALE environment variable, leveraging data analysis to mitigate subprocess timeout failures and improve test predictability. In Shopify/ruby, implemented an incremental garbage collection strategy in C to reduce pause times by managing malloc increases without triggering full GC cycles. Collaborated across repositories using C, Shell, and YAML, with a strong emphasis on maintainable, well-documented commits that support faster iteration and more reliable continuous integration workflows.
