Worked on the HHS/simpler-grants-gov repository to enhance frontend search reliability by developing comprehensive unit tests for the QueryProvider component. Focused on verifying the correct initialization and dynamic updates of search parameters, including query terms, total pages, total results, and local AND/OR logic. Leveraged React, JavaScript, and TypeScript to expand test coverage, ensuring that search-related behaviors are robust against regressions. The approach aligned closely with tracked issues to improve traceability and QA readiness. By prioritizing thorough testing over bug fixes, the work enabled a more reliable search user experience and increased confidence in future frontend changes and iterations.
