During June 2025, Elstob developed a configurable autoplay feature for the VideoShapeUtil component in the tldraw/tldraw repository. By introducing a boolean property to control video playback, Elstob addressed the issue of multiple videos autoplaying at once, which previously led to unpredictable user experiences and unnecessary bandwidth consumption. The solution was implemented using React and TypeScript, focusing on component design and boolean-flag based configuration. While no major bugs were fixed during this period, the work demonstrated a clear, maintainable approach to front end development and improved the scalability of video-related utilities within the codebase, resulting in smoother, more predictable playback behavior.
