During December 2025, Quelle Ordure developed a robust feature for the apache/poi repository, enabling reliable loading of Word documents containing ChartEx charts. Focusing on Java and XML parsing, Quelle implemented resilient exception handling and security safeguards to protect against zip-bomb scenarios, directly addressing failure modes in document ingestion for Office 2016+ charts. The work included comprehensive unit tests to validate loading behavior and enhanced error visibility by refining exception handling in POIXMLDocumentPart.java. Through these targeted improvements, Quelle strengthened enterprise document workflows, improved code quality, and collaborated on codebase maintenance, demonstrating depth in exception handling, Java development, and unit testing practices.
