Worked on the electricitymaps-contrib repository to refine the BarBreakdownChart component, focusing on improving the accuracy of hourly data visualizations. Implemented a targeted feature in React using TypeScript and JavaScript to exclude the 'installed capacity' metric from hourly aggregated data, ensuring that only relevant metrics are displayed for decision-making. This approach enhanced data integrity and reduced dashboard noise, making analytics more actionable for stakeholders. Maintained clear, traceable code changes that aligned data filtering with the selected view, directly addressing a documented issue. The work demonstrated attention to detail in front end development and contributed to a more reliable user experience.
