Developed and integrated a secure SQL parameter masking feature for the dialoguemd/fastapi-sqla repository, focusing on enhancing backend data protection. The work involved configuring the SQLAlchemy engine within a FastAPI environment to default to hiding sensitive SQL parameters in error messages and logs, with an opt-out path for debugging scenarios. Comprehensive tests were added to validate the masking functionality and ensure compliance with security requirements, reducing the risk of sensitive data exposure in production environments. This feature was implemented entirely in Python, leveraging expertise in backend development and database interaction to address compliance needs and improve operational safety in logging.
