Worked on the geerlingguy/linux repository to improve network interface card reliability by addressing a critical bug in the IDPF driver’s MAC filter handling. Focused on kernel development and device driver stability, the work involved correcting the logic for setting MAC address types and managing both primary and extra MAC addresses during filter add and remove operations. This fix, implemented in C, prevented transaction failures and invalid payload messages that previously occurred during interface MAC address changes and driver loading. The targeted update enhanced runtime stability and reduced escalation risk, demonstrating a deep understanding of low-level networking and driver development principles.
