Steffen focused on enhancing observability within the navikt/aap-meldekort-backend repository by delivering improved API logging and consistent MDC context across the meldekort and utfylling modules. Using Kotlin and leveraging backend development and logging expertise, Steffen refactored logback configurations to separate test and production logs, which increased CI visibility and improved log quality. The work ensured that the case number was reliably included in all log messages, enabling more efficient traceability and root-cause analysis for API interactions. This feature laid a solid foundation for better monitoring and operational reliability, addressing production support needs through deeper, context-rich logging capabilities.
