During January 2026, ExtremeXTDev managed the end-of-life process for the ExtremeXT/ExtremeROM repository, focusing on project closure and archival readiness. They authored and published an official end-of-life announcement, updating the Markdown-based documentation to clearly communicate the cessation of updates and support to users. Leveraging skills in documentation and version control, ExtremeXTDev ensured that the repository’s README reflected the project’s lifecycle changes, preserving essential knowledge for future reference. This work addressed the need for transparent communication and reduced ongoing maintenance, resulting in a smooth transition for users and maintainers. The engineering effort was targeted, with depth in documentation practices.
