Developed and delivered a Socratic mentoring feature for junior developers in the github/awesome-copilot repository, focusing on guided questioning to enhance understanding and autonomy during onboarding. The implementation introduced the mentoring-juniors skill and standardized the Socratic mentoring methodology across teams, enabling a scalable framework for coaching conversations. Leveraging AI integration and educational methodologies, the work established clear expectations for both mentors and mentees, reducing ramp-up time for new contributors. The feature was developed using Markdown and structured commit messaging, emphasizing cross-team collaboration and pedagogical best practices. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature development and mentoring workflows.
