Worked on enhancing particle physics simulations in the AliceO2Group/O2DPG repository by implementing a new configuration for the Pythia8 event generator. This feature enabled the replacement of D* and Sigma_c+ particles with Xi_c0 and Omega_c0, improving the accuracy of charm baryon decay modeling within Monte Carlo simulations. The approach involved C++ development and a deep understanding of both Monte Carlo methods and particle physics simulation requirements. Over the course of the month, the work focused on delivering this targeted feature without addressing bug fixes, demonstrating a specialized contribution to simulation fidelity and generator configurability in a research-oriented codebase.
